Since most of our designs are built to order, we can accommodate customization options that other shops just can’t match. Need a custom finish? No problem. Need an existing product in a custom size? Customization
Existing Lutz designs can be customized by changing wood species, textiles or dimensions varying from what is pictured in the collection. Pricing is subject to change from what is listed depending on materials chosen, complexity of the changes, and quantity requested.
Commissioning Unique Works
Lutz Furniture welcomes custom design/fabrication work. The process begins with a conversation with Peter to determine the scope and scale of your project through phone and/or email. Through that conversation Peter will get a sense for the aesthetic and functional requirements of the project. An initial estimate will be prepared for approval. From there, a design deposit is required for drawings to be produced. The initial deposit includes one set of drawings with up to two revisions. Price and timeline are decided for custom projects on a case-by-case basis.
Pricing and Payment
Once the design, timeline and budget are agreed upon, a 50% deposit is required before proceeding. The remaining 50% is paid upon completion of the work, prior to delivery or shipment. On-site delivery or installation can be negotiated depending on the scale of the project and its location. For greater distances and international orders crating and shipping costs will be calculated separately.

Have an idea for a design and need a production-savvy partner? Lutz furniture can assist with design services and fabrication expertise, producing technical drawings, prototypes, or a small-batch production runs. Lutz furniture is excited to execute your vision.
Our Wood Options
Lutz Furniture works with carefully hand-selected, sustainably harvested North American hardwoods. Material selection is a crucial component of making stunning furniture. Like any good chef knows, the end result is only as good as your ingredients. While the following images represent a baseline of color and grain, custom finishes can formulated for any species. Peter is happy to consult with you to achieve the look you are after.

Ordering Wood Samples
Samples of any of our standard finishes are available to order for $25 plus shipping. Included with every custom order we will provide one set of samples free of charge for your review before proceeding, If you want a specific finish, we would need to revise the quote to reflect the additional time that would take. The first set of samples is free. If additional samples are required: it's $25/sample for the first revision and $50 for every sample after that.
